Studio & Personal Assistant

Mahala Textiles is a British textile studio with a growing international presence. Our hand-crafted fabrics are represented by leading showrooms across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia.
We are now looking for a calm, capable individual to support our founder, Alexandra, with Mahala Textiles and her interior design practice.
This is a new and flexible freelance role. There are no fixed hours; the workload will vary week to week depending on what’s needed. We're looking for someone reliable, responsive, and able to take initiative. Over time, there will be scope for the role to grow.
You’ll help manage the daily running of the studio, liaising with our international showroom partners, overseeing sample and order logistics, and communicating with suppliers. You’ll also support Alexandra directly, assisting with scheduling, travel arrangements, and interiors-related admin.
International travel may occasionally be required, particularly in support of showroom relationships and events.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a working knowledge of the interior design industry
Is exceptionally organised and dependable
Communicates with clarity, warmth, and professionalism
Can manage a varied and evolving task list
Maintains discretion and sound judgment at all times
Is UK-based, ideally with flexibility for occasional in-person meetings or travel (Hampshire or London proximity preferred)
This is a freelance, part-time role with flexibility and space to grow. You’ll be joining a small but internationally respected studio at a time of meaningful development, playing a vital role in the next chapter of Mahala Textiles.
